•   Hang the poster, point to each item, ask: What is this? Pic A: Hamburger, French fries, soft drink, chocolate
Pic B: salad, rice, meat, fresh fruit, meal 
   •   Point to the 2 meals on the poster, ask: which of these two meals would you choose ( meal A or meal B)? S answer.
   •   Ask: Why did they choose meal A or B? Because I like it. Because it is my favourite food.
   •   Point to pic A. Say: This meal is easy to get. It arrives quickly and it is easy to eat. We say it convenient/ Say: This meal is looks good. We say it is attractive.     
   •   Ask : Which meal do you think is better for you, which meal do you think is healthier? S answer......I'll ask: Why is it healthier? Is any of the food in this meal bad for you? Introduce: Fats( e.g: Meal A has too many fats and too much sugar)/ contain( e.g: Meal A has or contains a lot of fats and sugar)/ balanced (e.g.: Meal B contains different kinds of food. It has the correct mixture of different kind of food. We say it is a balanced meal)
   •   Ask a S: What kind of food do you eat? Say: That is Mohammad's diet; A diet is the kinds of food a person eats over a long period of time. Does he have a healthy diet or unhealthy one? 
   •   Ask: Why do we need food? We need food to give us energy.
   •   Open PB/P25, S read the title and the first 7 Q's
   •   S look at the junk yard, read the caption there? Ask: What is junk?
   •   Read Q 8: What do you think ' junk food 'means? Food which (has no value) (is not very good for you)
   •   Read out Q 9, the answer: .....cola....doughnuts....frankfurters....ketchup....potato....chips....all kinds of chocolate and candies.....cakes...... biscuits.
 
   •   Turn PB/P26, S read the title, point to the subheading and read it: Fuel for the human machine. Say: Fuel is something that produce energy. For example, petrol is fuel for cars. Food is fuel for our bodies.
   •   Look at the other subheading. S read them aloud. 
   •   Ask: What does the word calories mean? We can measure height and length in metres but we measure the energy in food in calories.
   •   Look at the graph and read the caption there. Ask: how many calories are therein (an apple/ a tin of soft drink)? 40/ about 140.
   •   Look at the first pic: What different food can you see? wheat ... potatoes..... bread ........rice.......sugar, S read aloud the caption there, Say: So food like this gives us carbohydrates. 
   •   Look at the second pic: Do the same and read the caption there, say: supplies is as the same as gives us.
   •   Look at the cartoon. Ask: What is the message here?
 French fries + soft drinks + chocolates = "too fat"
   •   Ask: How many sections are there? 3, Read the tittles there.
 
   •   Open WB/P21, read the ins's, S read aloud the words in the box. S begin writing the answer.
