WHY DO PEOPLE LEARN LANGUAGES?

* Reasons For learning Languages:

*Why do people want to learn Languages?
*Why do people want to study English? May be for pleasure. May be,they want to get a better job.
So,There are a number of reasons for Language study.
a) School Curriculum.
Probably the greatest number of language students in the word do it because it is on the school curriculum whether they like it or not !

b) Advancement.
Some people want to study English because they think it offers a chance for advancement in their professional lives. Or English has become the international language of Communication.

c) Target Language Community.
Some students would need to learn English to survive in that Community.

d) English For Specific Purposes.
Students need to learn English for certain purpose as they like to be: air traffic controllers,business executives, waiters, medicine or nuclear physics.This is referred to as E.s.t [English For Science and Technology]. So, we can sum up these differences in the following way.

* English For Occupational Purposes.
* English For Academic Purposes.
* English For Science and Technology.

e) Culture.
Some students study a foreign languages because they are attracted to the culture of different people.

f) Miscellaneous.
There are of course many other reasons for learning a language. Some people do it just for fun or Tourism.

Finally, it will be clear form this list that there are many possible reasons for studing a language.
