Dish

The Mosque was  divided into 2 sections one of them has a roof and  the other one is opened ( The Dish) .
In order to let the prayers feel confortable , the islamic architect let the roof which is near to the wall of the qibla -near to El Mehrab - a tomb signaled to the sky . The dish was in the middle of the religious building in all  islamic ages and its space differed for the buildings .

Was also found in the Jerkesian Mamluki age , the dish which is covered with lantern , whose ground is covered at the beginning with bars of rotten stones then the red ,white and black marble were used late in engineered shapes .

The walls are opened on the dish by knots carried on pillars or columns. Starting from the Aubian age , the Dish`s walls are opened by edged knots or the horses squared which are ( the holes of the large sitting rooms ``IWAN``) locates on the Dish .

The dish walls are decorated with garnitures around the large sitting rooms knots , with using the style and the cornish beneath the terraces which crowns the internal fronts as means of decoration too .

In the mid of the dish , the fountain exists whose size differs according to the dish's surface , which is an eight fold basin of stones from inside and outside with marble and in the middle of it comes the fountain of marble also that is provided with water through the well exists in the building .

Around the basin , the group is a bit higher in eight fold shape too nearly one degree of the dish's ground .

-Around the basin there is a sunk chain . The basin is covered with the rest of wood that have windows , and the dome is carried on light marble columns .

The best example is the fountain in Sultan Hassan ` schools ( 757- 764 H / 1356-1362 AD) Cairo Egypt .

This basin is used for ablution to which necessary conditions for usage were made in sultan Barkouk`s time . Not like Grezowail mentioned that it was only an element of beauty .

It was used in celebrating the mosques to fill the fountain' s basin with lemonade juice that was served to the attendants
